Help us to conserve and restore biodiversity today. Your contribution will benefit the protection and restoration of biodiversity. Contribute to conserve and restore biodiversity on our UK sites, have a positive impact on carbon sequestration and help reverse the nature crisis.

By choosing the Biodiversity Bundle:

✔️ You'll be helping to heal the planet
✔️ You'll be conserving and restoring some of our rarest habitat and its wildlife
✔️ It'll benefit future generations who may not otherwise experience these special places

✔️ You'll be helping to conserve these important ecosystems The air you breathe, the water you drink and the food you eat all rely on biodiversity.

Biodiversity is the variety of life on Earth, in all its forms. The term was coined in 1985- a contraction of “biological diversity” Today, the huge global biodiversity losses represent a crisis equalling or quite possibly surpassing climate change.

Biodiversity comprises many interacting levels, starting with genes, then individual species, then communities of creatures and finally entire ecosystems, such as forests. If undamaged, this produces a finely balanced, healthy system which contributes to a healthy sustainable planet.

“Without biodiversity, there is no future for humanity”
- Prof David Macdonald, Oxford University

As the human population rises, wild areas are used as farmland, housing and industrial sites. The felling of forests is often the first step. Forests are disappearing at an alarming rate, 18.7 million acres of forests are lost annually. That’s the equivalent to 27 football fields every minute. Our forests provide a home to a wide variety of animals from deer, squirrels, badgers to tiny voles.

The biodiversity on our sites encompass not just trees, but a whole host of plants, fungi, animals and microorganisms. Each decision we make in planning takes into account the wider impact to the sites living inhabitants.

Contribute towards:

Ancient Woodland Protection. The Future Forest Company currently manages a number of sites with ancient woodland, including Glenaros and Dumyat, with very old woodland areas also present at Brisbane Mains.

At Glenaros, we have significant areas of the very special Atlantic Hazelwood. We have just started to manage these places and monitor their condition. We have identified that all have been subject to overgrazing, with little new regeneration, and are in need of help if future generations are to experience and enjoy them.

Wildflowers Meadows. The Future Forest Company manages many sites which currently have degraded meadows or have the potential to see new meadows created for the future. We have just started to manage several sites, including Dumyat, which have degraded meadows which need some help to return to their best. We have also identified places where we can create new meadows for the future.

Wetland Regeneration. The Future Forest Company manages many sites which currently have degraded wetlands. We wish to change this as fast as possible with your help, by conserving the best places, regenerating other areas, and even creating new wetlands. This includes peatlands, marshes, flushes and ponds. We have just started to manage several sites, which need some TLC to return to their best. To help do this, we have our own in-house Peatland and Ecologist specialists who manage these areas and who are now embarking on site surveys to ensure we do things right.

What you'll receive:
You'll get a quarterly newsletter where our experts will update you on our wetland conservation, restoration and biodiversity projects, and invitations to join them on sites to see how you are making a difference.
